input-utils software package provides utilities for the input layer of the Linux kernel, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install input-utils
input-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the input-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep input-utils *
You will get with input-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
